SHINING: 'V – Halmstad' North American Release Date Set
May 9, 2007Osmose USA/The End Records has set a June 26 release date for the new album from Sweden's controversial act SHINING, titled "V - Halmstad".
According to a press release, "SHINING's fifth recorded depression is no less than a monument of beauty in blackness and ghostly shades. From the early black metal influences of the cult act remains the sensation of illness, reinforced by some of the most possessed vocal parts howling from Kvarforth's tortured soul. The psychologically confused singer (who had vanished for a couple of weeks last August, letting his comrades think he might have killed himself) proves on SHINING 'V' that he's back from the dark side sicker than ever before. While in the meantime, the band displays a mix between sheer heaviness and sublime atmospheric moments, with a special mention to the amazing acoustic guitar work delivering eerie melodies as well as masterclass skills when it comes to lead parts. 'V' is truly one of a kind. Handle with care, but for art's sake, handle now."
